She has 15-plus years of experience as an advocate and therapist in both rural and urban settings, beginning her career working with children. She has provided direct treatment to individuals and families, worked within governmental systems, and advised non-profits on a national level.
Alexandra can assist with gaining a deeper understanding of the impact of our histories on how we view the world. Additionally, she specializes in addressing the neurobiological manifestation of issues through sound and frequency methods, which she pursued after witnessing the quick transformation for clients and for herself.

Dr. JoAnna VanVleet heads our transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy program. For new and redetermination appointments, please book your appointment with Dr. VanVleet. She is a Board Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a Distinguished Fellow with the American Psychiatric Association. She attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, before moving to Florida, subsequently graduating with a degree in Chemistry from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. Dr. VanVleet graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. VanVleet completed her four-year psychiatric internship and residency training through Henry Ford Behavioral Health System in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. VanVleet is the Medical Director for iMind Mental Health Solutions, an outpatient mental health care clinic offering the full spectrum of care, from therapy to psychiatry and breakthrough treatments such as transcranial magnetic stimulation and Spravato. Lucia Cabanela Macias is a Physician Assistant at iMind Mental Health Solutions. Originally from Argentina, she has called St. Lucie County home for nearly 20 years. She graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Health Science and a minor in Public Health, where she was recognized as an Anderson Scholar, included in the President’s Honor Roll and was part of the honors medical society, Alpha Epsilon Delta. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from South University.
Board-certified and fluent in Spanish, Lucia has a special interest in child and adolescent psychiatry, women’s mental health, and pregnancy-related psychiatric care. She is passionate about supporting patients and families through compassionate, patient-centered treatment.

Raised in Boca Raton and Port Saint Lucie, Payal has been a Florida native her whole life and enjoys calling the Sunshine State her home. She obtained her undergraduate degree at Florida State University where she majored in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Chemistry. Payal then went on to Nova Southeastern University where she obtained her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies and graduated with the highest honors. During her training, Payal obtained experience in various specialties including addiction medicine, inpatient psychiatry and pediatric psychiatry. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and is dedicated to ensuring her patients receive the individualized care they deserve in a collaborative approach.
